Dear Friend:

I am writing to share with you a letter that I sent to President Bush today, urging him to address the threat of global warming by instituting a federal cap on greenhouse gas emissions. I have attached a copy of my letter to this email.

There has been a lot of energy generated around this issue, but we must continue to get the word out that global warming is a real problem with real implications.  I was pleased to learn that Governor Patrick announced that Massachusetts will rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.  Communities like Lowell and Methuen have begun to study green solutions to municipal problems.  It is time for the White House to start paying attention, demonstrate leadership, and address the issue of climate change.

Thank you again for your interest and involvement in this important issue.  Please feel free to call my Lowell office at 978-459-0101 if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Marty Meehan
