MooReese, My New Canadian Friend

We traveled to Cook's Lake today to continue our research on the mammals of Nova Scotia. You saw the videos I shared last week with the Longworth traps and the scruffing...well get read to rock and roll through another week of the same thing.
Why so much repetition? Why do we, as scientists, need to test and investigate over and over? Why is it necessary to compare results of the same investigation from one location to another; from one year to the next?
Cook's Lake is awesome - an inland plot of land that is home
to some of the same mammals that we investigate by the coast last week at East Port Medway. There is an expectation that there will be a much more plentiful population of small mammals here than at the coastline. We will see tomorrow when we check our traps for the first time.In the meantime, check out the video a few of us shot with a local resident and let me know what you think!
Looking forward to the I-I you have for me!

Sorry we didn't have time yesterday to work on Science due to MCA testing but here we are on day two of testing, brain fried but ready to respond as a class. Endymion says the climate changes may be greater in one location than another. Dilly thinks you need to check the inlands and the coastal areas because they may have different mammals. T-Bone thinks it is important to collect data over time about the mammals so you can compare it to the climate change data to make some conclusions about how the weather is affecting the mammals.Duck says she thinks you collect lots of info because seasonal changes in temperatures might impact the mammals. MarG thinks data collected year to year will show the animal populations changing with global warming. We are guessing that longer seasons of warm weather will mean more food thus more animals.
Loved the video especially the star Maurice. Can he give us an autograph? We thought he was a female moose at first because they don't have antlers and they are called cows. When we heard it was found everywhere, we figured it was a domestic cow.
We forgot in our last comment to put in a question about Mrs.Tang. We thought what it would be like to be Mrs.Tang and the "feet". we thought it would be disgusting and a little slimey. We were wondering what it was like to be in that gross situation? Please respond quickley!
