Jazzin' It Up in NOLA!

We had a fun first night in New Orleans! It happened to be the French Quarter Festival this weekend, so we were lucky to hear lots of fantastic local music. We stayed at the Oldest Bed and Breakfast in the United States, the Park View Guest House.
Today, we toured the city, ate some great food, and had a chance to see a city rich in culture and history. Later in the day, we left New Orleans for Slidell, where we would be staying for the next 7 nights. On our way to the Pearl River Wildlife Management Area (the lcoation of our bunk house), we drove through what appeared to be damage from Hurricane Katrina. It was pretty amazing to see abandoned boats and debris scattered along the freeway shoulders still. We are all pretty tired tonight, so I will update the blog more tomorrow night. I hope everyone is well!!
