Walking back from our plot this morning, I started getting very dizzy looking up at this intricate forest canopy. A small vehicle driven by hunters went by with two dead deer sticking up in the back. There are many kinds of trees growing here but it's a challenge to identify them without their leaves! I've been learning to look at patterns on the bark and in the growth of their branches. Sometimes a few dead leaves are left on the branches.
