Climbing a Tower

This afternoon we climbed to the top of a 120 foot tower. At the top, scientific instruments measure rainfall, light, carbon dioxide levels, wind, and how clear the air is. We were higher than the trees. The tower shook a little when the wind blew, but it wasn't bad. Above is a picture of a solar panel with spikey plastic pieces on top of it. What do you think the purpose of the plastic pieces is?

Hi Mrs. Catledge...it's Mrs. Champagne's class. We looked up Chesapeake Bay on the map. It is located in between Virginia and Maryland. We enjoy reading your blog everyday. Keep posting pictures and videoes. We look forward to seeing you on the podcast today.
We think the plastic pieces may have something to do with keeping birds off of the solar panels.
Thank you for the fun activities that you left for us this week.
Hi Mrs. Catledge! How was your trip in the tower? I (and the other 4th graders) are very happy for you and we miss you very much.
Write back!!
Yours truly,
Haley LaGrange
