Hi everyone!
As you know I will be going the Smithsonian Ecological Research Center in Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay. I m going to participate in a study called, "Climate Change and Fragmented Forests" You know how much we LOVE forests!

I will be "blogging " with you while I am there, so I thought we should start to practice now.

Think about all you've learned about trees and forest ecology since September. What else would you like to learn about our forest?







Here's a picture of where I'm going. Look at a map and locate the
Chesapeake Bay. Is it North or South of us? What states border the bay?
Big, isn't it? You can see that there are a lot of forests around there. What do you think these forests have in common with ours in Massachusetts? How would you expect them to be different?
I'll be posting pictures and telling you everything I'm doing while I'm there. And I KNOW you'll behave for the substitute!
