It's raining, it's pouring but we are not snoring!

We (Christian and Kristin) arrived yesterday afternoon to lots of rain. The rest of the partners will be arriving over the next day and a half and we're excited to meet them. We met Buck and Lisa this afternoon. They are from the UW of Tacoma and they are leading a piece of this research that involves bugs. Today it is raining heavily - there has been lots of rain here, many storms in factsoem of the road to Tarrazu were washed out several weeks ago due to heavy rain. We don't anticipate any more crazy weather and look forward to talking to you all again soon from Tarrazu!

Kristin Anderson and Christian Duke here from Starbucks Coffee Company. From July 1 - July 13 we’re leading a team of 8 partners on an Earthwatch Expedition in Costa Rica. Our focus is understanding sustainable coffee farming practices which help to improve quality and yield. We will be counting coffee cherries on trees, measuring shade trees and taking soil samples.
