Climate Change at the Arctic's Edge with Ms. Santoro

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I recently traveled to Churchill, Canada to work with scientists studying the impact of climate change. They are trying to learn more about our planet in order to help us take care of it. Please join me in helping children learn about the ways that people all over the world take care of our planet. Write in now. Look for one of the blue "comments" words. Click on it and leave me a message about how you REDUCE, REUSE or RECYCLE.

Recycling in Cairo, Egypt

The zabaleen (Arabic for garbage collectors) are people in Cairo, Egypt that go door to door and collect large piles of trash. Then they go through the piles and sort everything.  They recycle and reuse most of the trash they find.

This is another photo from Cairo, Egypt.
Can you tell what this man is recycling?

Write to me and take a guess.

Earth Friendly Art

Elementary students in Japan RECYCLE many items found around their house to create art projects.  The elementary school in Komaki has art shows where every piece of art is made out of recycled materials.

Send me a photo of an art project you made out of recycled household items.  You can send photos to santorol@glastonburyus.org
