Pre Departure Entry 1

Greetings from Pope High School in Marietta, Georgia!
It is hard to believe I am preparing to depart for the Arctic in just a few days. Things are starting to come together as I pack my bags and begin to prepare lesson plans for my awesome students here. I look forward to meeting my fellow educator colleagues as we work together to gather data for this Earthwatch Expedition, Climate Change at the Arctic's Edge. We will be stationed in Churchill, Manitoba. (See map)
Altho I've worked on 4 previous international teacher assignments, this will be my first as an Earthwatch volunteer! I promise to try and keep my blog active and rousing!! I look forward to hearing from my students who I know will pose interesting questions and observations... STAY TUNED! September 5 departure date is approaching!!
