Answers to some questions

Your trip looks very interesting so far! I hope you are having a good time. ... answers ... here they are...

April 14th:
1) the tree might begin to die or rot in the spot where there is no bark because the live wood inside doesn't have any protection from insects, animals, or weather.
2) Porcupines might have a problem with birch trees because their bark is like sheets of paper, so it would be hard to pull it off in large amounts, because there is layers of the thin bark.

April 15th:
1)You have the hay to keep the animal warm, and comfortable. You have the apples and seeds to keep the animal fed and nourished. And you have the hole for shrews so they can get out of the trap, because you aren't looking at that species for information. The hole is small so the shrews can fit, but the other animals can't.
2) It is important to return the animal to the same spot so it knows where it's nest and possibly babies are. It needs to be familiar with it's surroundings so it can find food, a home, and a mate.

Have an awesome trip, and our class is looking forward to talking to you soon!
