Saved by the SHARKS???

Go to the website below to watch a cool video clip of the Caribbean Reef Shark (then come back to this page for the question below)! I'm not sure if I want to see one of these creatures or not... but it is a BIG possibility that we might get to see one since they do live right there in the coral reef I will be visiting! YES, I will be intruding their habitat.

BE SURE TO MAKE THE MOVIE FULL SCREEN WHEN YOU CLICK ON IT!!!!

SO, here is a question for you... Do you think it would be a good idea to remove sharks from the coral reef ecosystem?

By the way, here is an example of a food chain for you to think about BEFORE you answer that question. Reef sharks eat Baracudas which eat Sponges which eat Seaweed... and remember seaweed is BAD for the Coral Reef because it takes away necessary space and sunlight needed for the coral to survive... and Sponges help keep the water clean and clear... humm...

So what do you think? Should the reef sharks should be removed from the Coral Reef?

Your kids seem very sweet and I love the things they made. They created a whole ocean environment right there in the classroom! How COOL is that!?!?
