Beautiful Bahamas

Hello everyone! Look! It's me in the pilot seat! Well, after a couple of lengthy flights and drives... I have arrived on San Salvador Island, Bahams. We got to tour the island today, but it was MUCH too windy to get into the water. The waves were HUGE! This is a beautiful place on land... I can't wait to see it from the underwater view. Did you know that there are over 700 islands in the bahamas?

We have a small group of Earthwatch volunteers here, but there is also a large group of high school students here as well! We went into Cockburn Town today to see the local grocery and hardware store. It was pretty small and things were expensive. There are only about 1,200 people that visit this island every year, and only about 1,000 people that actually live here. I have even seen some local children here today!

Thanks for all the great comments! I'm enjoying reading them. Here is a question for everyone to look up: What is the current temperature in the bahamas?

Hi Mrs. Hester,
Is that picture a view from your hotel? It is so beautiful. The temperature at 8:38 central time in the Bahamas is 72'F. The forecast says there will be am showers there. I hope it doesn't interfere with your reef exploration. Have a great day.

How wonderful to see that you have arrived on the island San Salvador. I hope the wind subsides so you can get in the water. Brooke and I will keep on blogging!

Well...I hope that you are having a good time today. I've got everything packed up to go to Norias for my three days of HUNTING and just wanted to wish you all of my love. What is the average temperature in the Bahamas and what is the current temp?

It's mid-70's here now.

All of my love and wish me luck,

Beau
