Almost ready to go...

I am almost ready for my trip!
On Sunday I will begin my arctic adventure. I'll be sad to leave all of my friends and students behind but I think they know how important the expedition is.
Students at A.C.E.:
Now that we have started studying climate change and the greenhouse effect we should take a closer look at who is responsible for most of the greenhouse gases that are being released into the atmosphere. I would like you guys to take a look at http://www.breathingearth.net/. This simulation keeps track of carbon emissions, births and deaths. Which countries emit the most carbon? What does the number of births and deaths tell you about our global population trends?
You should also check out polar ice cap melter . This link shows you how the ice caps have changed over the past 25 years. Remember that the earth is about 4.5 billion years old. It is hard to believe that we have caused so much change in such a short amount of time.
I am looking forward to reading your comments and answering your questions. Keep checking for updates.
(Today Sharod accused me of polluting the environment by not eating meat. This is for you Sharod - http://www.goveg.com/environment-globalwarming.asp . Why is it that meat production contributes so largely to global warming? Is carbon the only greenhouse gas for us to worry about? )

I think this trip is sooo cool! I wish i could go to the Artic and see all the bears and penguins that your researching on. Do you think you are gonna find any dead animals? If so, what do you think they might have died from? It's sad that they have to suffer from global warming... but it's nice to know your going there to try and make a difference. Keep up the good work!

Mr.Griffith your pH levels relate to our pH level's because you tested it and it changed as you moved up into the soil near the topsoil.
