Trail Building

Diamondbacks, I loved reading all of your promises today! You really ROCKED and I really feel that our Earth is going to be a better place because of each of you.

I know there are things that I do that hurt the Earth and things that I do to help protect the Earth. I think that I am going to be like Ms. Scott and look at my two lists in order to see what I can do to make my hurting list shorter and my helping list longer.

Here is a video talking to you a little bit about my morning...well actually my entire day. I didn't catch any animals in my trap today. Actually, in my entire team there is only one of us who caught anything today (Kathy caught one vole).

video
We are very curious about why we have not caught any animals. Do you think that you can think of any reasons why we have caught so few animals in our new field site?

video
Since we are very curious about the animals in this new habitat the scientists have decided that we are going to clear a trail. We are taking all the dead trees and moving them out of the way in order to create a path which will allow us to observe the animals more closely. We think that this will give us more information about the animals of this area. Can you think of any other reasons why clearing a trail would be helpful to the environment or to saving and observing the animals in an area?

I think your not finding anything vole because the global warming is killing them and other animals are killing them too.

1-I think there is not a lot of voles and mouses because I think they don't like living in the area maybe they don't like living near the oceans!

2-so you could see them better and put more traps, where they live!

Dear Ms.Livingston

First of all I'm going to answer your question you didn't got any voles or mouses because maybe the voles or the mouses don't like at all the water so if they don't like the water you are not going to find them right there.

Love,
Jennifer

Dear Ms.Livingston,
I think that you didn't catch a mice or vole because, your close to the ocean, and maybe not a lot of animals live close to the ocean. To answer your second question,I think your clearing a trail so that you won't get hurt when your walking though the forest. And so that you will know you way back to your home.

I think you are not catching any vole or mice because vole and mice don't live there and in the forest theres a lot of vole and mice.

#2
It will be good for you can cross the river or the mud.

If you cached mice and voles in the
forest their could be more in the
the forest than close to the ocean. If you looked for mice and voles close to the ocean, I think
their not close to the ocean
because their scared.

dear ms.Livingston.

are you sure you wanna do this to the environment because your destroying homes for animals and your hurting trees and if you do this then what will happen to the earth love Alex

If you are cutting down trees and
putting a trail that would be a good
reason because the animals would
pass threw the trail.

1...I think that the mice are not over by the oceans and they are by the the forest because they do not want to drown in the oceans and they want to go to the forest cause theres a lot of food.

2...I don't think there's a good reason for building a trail.

1. I think that you are not going some mice or a vole it is that you are in the said of the ocean maybe there are on mice or vole is that were your are there are no mice or vole.
2.I think that you have to clear a trail is that you can see some animals and learn about them.

1. it must be because the water is pushing the voles and mice to the water. Or there is a bunch of owls there in the habitat.

2. The animal will not eat the died
plants and they will not get sick. it will be easy to pass the trail in the plants.

Dear Ms.Livingston

It's good to clean the trail because 3 reasons I'm going to give you the first one is that animals could pass more easy through. Second is like if there is a snake when that animal is passing through there it could see the snake and they wouldn't get heart. Finally the last one is so you could go through.

Love,
Jennifer

Dear Ms.Livingston

You are not catching mouse and voles because they don't want to go to the water. I think if you put a trip and the mouse or voles can see it and they can go and get it.

Number 1 I think you did not catch a animal because the animal go to drink water in the lake but the ocean have sand.

Number 2 I think they are doing a pass to the animal can walk in and they can see the animal.

Dear Ms. Livingston,

Your questions are easy to answer. We think mice and voles do not live by the ocean. They live in the forest.

It is important so other people do not step on animals houses. And they can put the traps where the path is so they can see and get in. People will step on traps or get lost.

We think that you need to give us harder questions!
We miss you Ms. Livingston.

Do you swim in ocean?

Youdidint cash eni vole because.Voles do not like water andfrogs can eat the volver livein the forest. TheyDonotlive in the cost .Because animalsare bing kell. Animals live in trees and people are killing birds nest and killing bird eggs when they are cutting trees. People could get lost if there's no trail.

How do you feel by yourself over there in Nova Scotia? Do you miss us? Could you take a picture of a frog??

YES because it can trap the animal difficulty.

Hi Ms. Livingston. I think the reason why you are not trapping as many animals in your new area because of Sea Gulls. I know that Sea Gulls are found near the Atlantic Ocean in Nova Scotia. I also researched to see what Sea Gulls eat and guess what? They eat small rodents such as Mice and Voles. So they have probably eaten enough Mice and Voles that the others have learned to stay away from the large waters.
