I think I know the answer to your question.You could see the food in the feces(poops).If its green he eats fruit.If he eats meat(carnivore)it turns brown.
If you see fur in the feces that animal eats meat.

Dear Ms.Livingston how do you now that the feces of the mammals what they eat? how do you know?
I think that win the animals use the bathroom, the scientists can see grass or fruit or leaves, and that's how they know what the animal ate.
I think they now by smelling the feces and by looking at it. I think they now because be the color. And also if the poop is small it was a small animal. :D

I think if you looked at a animal that eats meats the feces of the animal is going to look different than a other animal. Or if it had fur
the feces of the animal that has fur
will look hotter than the animal that doesn't have fur.
Ex:Bears,Monkeys,Tigers,and Lions.

If the feces have bone or feathers the animal is a carnivore. I know that because the meet stay in side

If the feces have grass and leaves the animal is a herbivore.

Hi Ms.Livingston! We are here to answer your great question. We think that if the feces is heavy the animal will be a carnivore. If the feces have seeds in it the animal will be a herbivore. We all miss you very much!!!! P.S. FOURTH GRADE ROCKS!!!!

Hi Ms.Livingston.We think that we have the answer to your question. If you look for feces, check for bones and seeds inside of it. If you see bones it eats meat and if you look for seeds it eats fruit.

Hi Miss Livingston we saw your video.we have some ideas.we think that if feces is red then it is meat.We also think that if seeds come out with the feces it is a hervivore.

I do have a few people to respond to though.
First is Ben. No, I am not planning on doing any swimming. It is REALLY cold and there is no way I could get into the water BUT I do think that if I had a wetsuit there would be some really great practice waves for surfing.
Second is Mrs. Owen. I am glad that I could move the topic of your conversations to feces. I am finding that it is rather fascinating and I think you are going to be VERY interested in my blog after tomorrow's feces hunt!

Dear,Ms.Livingston,I think a vole is a kind of mouse rodent.When the latch goes up the door comes down and when the latch is down it opens.You guys put straws because you want to atract the vole(mouse).you were scared of the frog.
