Happy Earth Day!!!
Hey there Diamondbacks!
I am really excited about the answers that I am getting from you! I loved hearing what you thought about the snowshoe hare and I also loved the figurative language that you wrote about the ocean. I still wish that I could get a few more comments on each before I give you the answers or post some of the most creative examples of figurative language. In order to do this, I am going to give you one more day to post your thoughts and knowledge on both blogs.
Today I made a movie about our Earth. I made the movie because it is Earth Day but really it is more about making a promise to care about the Earth everyday.
After you finish watching the movie I would like you to create two lists. One will be a list of all the things that you can think of that humans are doing to destroy our Earth and the other will be a list of things that other humans are doing to save the Earth.
Once you make your two lists I would then like you to write a promise to either be a person who will destroy our Earth or a promise to be a person who will help to save our Earth. Diamondbacks, the choice is yours, but remember, we have only one Earth...

Today we are learning about what is good and what is bad to the earth.
Here are some good things to do:
trees,not litternot youse cars ride bike walk,recycle, no factorys, dont make fire,youse baskets when you by food and collect cans.
these are some bad things to do to the earth:
litter, graffiti, smoke, waste gas, waste paper, factoris,you's plastic bags,kill anmals.

We have bad things and good things that people do to the earth.

world because they are making pollution or they are throwing trash

Dear Ms. Livingston,
I hope you don't mind, but I changed up my lists just a little bit.
First, a list of all the things I have done throughout my life to help destroy the Earth:
- driven to work, rather than walking, taking the bus, riding a bike, or carpooling
- thrown away recyclable items
- gotten groceries in plastic bags
- left the TV, computer, and lights on when I wasn't using them
- watered my lawn using lots of water
- left the water running when I wasn't using it
- wasted paper
Next, here are things I have done to help save the Earth:
- rode my bike and carpooled to work
- recycling or re-using as much waste as possible
- used paper or canvas bags to get groceries
- turned off the lights, computer, and TV when I wasn't using them
- bought food from local farmers' markets, so it doesn't have to travel so far
- measured, then tried to reduce, my carbon footprint
- turned the water off when I wasn't using it
- re-used paper (today, we made new paper out of old paper and unused toilet tissue)
- bought organic foods
I promise to focus the rest of my life on continuing everything on that second list. I also promise to look at that first list and make some changes!

The people who help the world don't smoke they recycle, use less electricity, drive less, and do other things that are great for are world.
