Not about Caterpillars! Just for Fun!!!!!

Here are a couple pictures of items I photographed during our first day "in the field". One of the items I photographed will be easy for you to identify (I think) because it is left by an animal that also lives in New Hampshire that you are familiar with. The second photo is evidence left behind by an animal that you may or may not be familiar with. We do have them in New Hampshire but they are prevalent in Louisiana and people in this area often boil them up and eat them!!!!!!

Day #3/Question #11

What is the left-hand picture a picture of? What animal left it behind?

Day #3/Question #12

What is the middle picture a picture of? What animal left it behind?

We think it is a beaver. We think it is a beaver because from our point of view it looks like a moist area. We also think it is a beaver because they're a lot of sticks around the area, so it could be a torn down dam. What is the normal temperature down there? Do you know if the school we're E paling with has detention? We hope to hear from you soon.

In the second picture we think a deer left it behind. What other kinds of animals live in Louisiana? Are they similar to the animals we have in New Hampshire? The weather must be a lot warmer in Louisiana. Have you seen a lot of caterpillars so far?

A deer did leave behind the set of droppings. People still haven't guessed what left the little "mud house" behind. Does anyone have any ideas what might have left this very small mud house behind?

The weather here has been a pleasant temperature, around 70.

I think the picture to the left is either poop or egg because it is round and brown.
